چکیده

A simple procedure to map two probability measures in R is the so-called Knothe-Rosenblatt rearrangement, which consists in rearranging monotonically the marginal distributions of the last coordinate, and then the conditional distributions, iteratively. We show that this mapping is the limit of solutions to a class of Monge-Kantorovich mass transportation problems with quadratic costs, with the weights of the coordinates asymptotically dominating one another. This enables us to design a continuation method for numerically solving the optimal transport problem.

From Knothe's Rearrangement to Brenier's Optimal Transport Map

Let us assume the production is equal to the need. We can then represent each by a measure : for instance, if Ω stands for the whole country, we can denote by μ(A) the share of the goods being made in the regionA ⊂ Ω, and by ν(B) the share of the needs arising in the region B ⊂ Ω. And any supply plan can be represented by a joint measure γ on Ω × Ω, such that γ(A × B) is the share of the goods ...

FORECASTING TRANSPORT ENERGY DEMAND IN IRAN USING META-HEURISTIC ALGORITHMS

This paper presents application of an improved Harmony Search (HS) technique and Charged System Search algorithm (CSS) to estimate transport energy demand in Iran, based on socio-economic indicators. The models are developed in two forms (exponential and linear) and applied to forecast transport energy demand in Iran. These models are developed to estimate the future energy demands based on pop...

Minimal Geodesics Along Volume-Preserving Maps, Through Semidiscrete Optimal Transport

We introduce a numerical method for extracting minimal geodesics along the group of volume preserving maps, equipped with the L metric, which as observed by Arnold [Arn66] solve the Euler equations of inviscid incompressible uids. The method relies on the generalized polar decomposition of Brenier [Bre91], numerically implemented through semi-discrete optimal transport. It is robust enough to e...

Ecological and Economic Principles to Improve the Route Network of Urban Transport

The transport system of many Ukrainian cities does not meet the EU standards and requirements. There is a need to improve urban transport networks, to use transport potential efficiently on the basis of environmental logistics and to improve environmental safety as one of the principles of sustainable transport development. The systems model to create an ecologically safe logistics system of pu...

Scanning impedance microscopy (SIM): A novel approach for AC transport imaging

Scanning Impedance Microscopy (SIM) is one of the novel scanning probe microscopy (SPM) techniques, which has been developed to taking image from sample surface, providing quantitative information with high lateral resolution on the interface capacitance, and investigating the local capacitance–voltage (C–V) behavior of the interface and AC transport properties. The SIM is an ordinary AFM equip...
